A Cloaking Device is an item in the game Perfect Dark. It is also used as a helpful item in Super Smash Bros. Melee. If a player picks it up, it turns them almost completely invisible for a short amount of time, although they sometimes flash back into visibility for a split-second. The player has to be careful because they can lose track of their own invisible character. There is a special Invisible Melee mode were all players have on unlimited-time Cloaking Devices all the time.

In the Event Match Slippy's Invention, the player has to defeat Fox and Falco who both have on permanent Cloaking Devices, but can still be damaged. The Cloaking Device used by the pair was invented by Slippy.

Trophy Information

This state-of-the-art camouflage device bends light rays in such a way that players using it appear almost invisible.

The device fosters confusion, and players using it will not take damage while cloaked. However, this does not mean that players become invulnerable, so they can still be sent reeling or flying across the screen, depending on their damage percentages

Trivia

  • The Cloaking Device does not appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. However, the player can make all fighters invisible if they turn on CLEAR in Special Brawl mode.
  • Though the Cloaking Devices origins from Perfect Dark, the trophy states it is not from any game but is TOP SECRET.
