Madpoles are a species of bluish Tadpoles debuting in the Wii U game, Super Mario 3D World and it's remake. Their name is a combination of "mad" and "tadpole".
Madpoles are uncommon enemies that calmly swim on the water surface. They are happy and adorable when left alone but as they spot Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, or Rosalina, they swim angrily at their direction, and will keep doing so if they dive into the water. They can be defeated by basically any attack. Madpoles appear in Rammerhead Reef, The Bowser Express, Deepwater Dungeon, Sprawling Savanna Rabbit Run and Pipeline Boom Lagoon.
