Mega Man is a series of platformers created by Capcom, which star the eponymous blue robot and his successors. The series is one of Capcom's most well-known franchises, and is heavily associated with Nintendo due to its success on the NES and SNES. As such, Mega Man has made sporadic crossover appearances with the Mario franchise; while most of these were in the form of tie-in comics and cartoons, the two franchises' first true in-game crossover has been in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U.
