The Golden Pipe is a gold-colored Warp Pipe featured in the Mario Party series and a few of the Super Mario series titles, serving as an item in the former series and as an object in the latter. It first appears in Mario Party DS, in which it is named Star Pipe, and has a star printed on its side. The purpose of the Golden Pipe is to take its user to where the Star is located. Golden Pipes are essentially identical in function to Genie Lamps and Flutter Orbs from earlier Mario Party titles.
History
Mario Party series
In Mario Party DS, a Star Pipe can be bought in any Item Shop after the fifth round. It costs fifteen coins, and when used it will take the player directly to the location of the Star, but the player still has to trade coins to buy one. In Kamek's Library, the pipe takes its user to the Lucky Jar containing the star.
In Super Mario Party, the Golden Pipe is normally bought for ten coins, and the player still has to trade coins to buy the star. A small difference is that the Golden Pipe places its user directly beside the star rather than on the same space as it.
In Mario Party Superstars, the Golden Pipe makes a reappearance, and has a very similar function as in Super Mario Party. It costs 25 coins, more than twice as expensive than in Super Mario Party. A Golden Pipe is also one of the usable stickers.
