The AKG48 is a group that is seen in the Super Mario 3D Land arc of Super Mario-kun. The AKG48 are a parody of the Japanese girl group AKB48, and are primarily about food and worshipping Pom Pom.
Notable members
Although there are various species that are fans of AKG48 (such as Goombas, Koopa Troopas and Dry Bones), there are also several important members of the AKG48, with most of them being female members of various enemy species. The list of the AKG48 members are as follows:
- Pom Pom (leader of the AKG48)
- Pūko (プー子) (A female Rocky Wrench/Monty Mole that also hosts the Mogura Matsuri)
- Terechin (テレちん) (A female Boo)
- Kurimina (クリみな) (A female Goomba)
- Gesorin (ゲソりん) (A female Blooper)
- Fugemayuyu (フゲまゆゆ) (A female Porcupuffer)
- Hachiko (ハチ子) (A female Stingby mother)
- Babu-chan (バブちゃん) (A female Podoboo)
- Bomurin (ボムりん) (A female Bob-omb)
History
Prior to the AKG48's debut in volume 46, a member of the AKG48 named Hachiko appeared in volume 45. Despite Hachiko later being confirmed to be a member of AKG48, the group is never mentioned in volume 45 (besides the sneak peeks).
The AKG48 is first seen in the first chapter of volume 46, where several fans of AKG48 tell Mario about AKG48, and get Mario to join them to worship Pom Pom.
In the fourth chapter of the same volume, one of the members of AKG48 named Pūko hosts a Monty Mole themed festival called the Mogura Matsuri that is sponsored by them.

Trivia
- Hachiko and Pūko are the only AKG48 members to physically appear in a chapter, as the other AKG48 members are only briefly mentioned on the list of them seen in the first chapter of volume 46.
