Piscatory Pete
First appearance Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (1995)
Latest appearance Yoshi's New Island (2014)
Species origin Rip Van Fish

Piscatory Petes are a golden sub-species of Rip Van Fish. They appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its remake Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 alongside Rip Van Fish in which they would swim at the Yoshi, attempting to swim into hom. The Yoshi could defeat them in its Yoshi Submarine form with a single torpedo.

They reappear in Yoshi's Island DS, although since the Submarine no longer shoots torpedoes, Yoshi simply has to avoid them. They appear automatically in the Island Museum (alongside the Rip Van Fish) the first time Yoshi views them instead of the normal "egg has to hit" policy. This is because Yoshi can't hit them with eggs. This also applies to Podoboos.
