===Background===

Before the events of the game, the Ancient Minister is known as '''[[R.O.B.]]''' and he is the leader of the R.O.B. race of robots. R.O.B.'s official title is the "Master Robot". He and the other robots lived on the floating [[Isle of Ancients]] and watch over this world. Indeed, R.O.B. is the overseer of this world and is considered the world's "lord." However, this world is eventually invaded by Tabuu, a humanoid entity from Subspace. He attacks the Isle of Ancients, deactivating many R.O.B.s and eventually taking the robots hostage. R.O.B. is forced to ally himself with Tabuu in order to prevent the deaths of more of his robot brethren. It's at this time that he began to hide under his ceremonial robes of mourning and assume the name "Ancient Minister". The Isle of Ancients is converted into [[The Subspace Bomb Factory]] and the Ancient Minister becomes the commander of the Subspace Army. As the commander of the army, he leads the invasion of this world on behalf of Tabuu.
