In Super Smash Bros., there is also a Bumper floating above the Peach's Castle stage; this Bumper retains its original appearance and damage properties in the stage's DLC return in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U.
In Super Smash Bros., if one is thrown and directly hits an opponent, it causes a significant amount of knockback despite causing only one percent of damage. In Brawl, no damage is done, but the knockback is even greater. Additionally, the knockback that the Bumper delivers increases as the target's damage increases.

Bumpers return in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, now with a new design: the outer part is silver instead of blue, and the central part is red with a yellow Super Smash Bros. symbol.

Bumpers also appear in Super Mario Maker as a free update (1.30) on 12/22/15. They resemble donuts with eyes, and they look like Lemmy Koopa's ball. They are unlocked by shaking a Grinder and also have the same size.
