The Great Fox as seen in Star Fox: Assault appears in the Orbital Gate stage in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.▼
Great Fox is a large battle cruiser in the Star Fox series, and serves essentially as the mothership for Fox and his team. It made an appearance in Super Smash Bros. as a stage under the name Sector Z. Two stages in Super Smash Bros. Melee take place on Great Fox; Corneria and Venom.

The Corneria stage returns in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but the newly introduced Star Fox themed stage, Lylat Cruise takes place on a different ship, Pleiades. The Great Fox can sometimes be seen in the background of the Lylat Cruise stage engaging in a space battle. The Great Fox plays a role in the adventure mode for Brawl, the Subspace Emissary, where a cutscene shows it battling against Meta Knight's ship, the Halberd. Ultimately, the Great Fox loses, and the Halberd takes hold of it and plants it into an ice covered mountain.
