The Green Hill Zone also appears in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' as a unlockable stage. It is automatically unlocked when the player unlocks [[Sonic the Hedgehog]]. If the terrain is attacked too often, a section of it will collapse, but it can eventually repair itself. A checkpoint from the ''Sonic'' games occasionally appears on the stage, which temporarily spins when attacked and can deal damage to opponents.
