Alternate versions of Kongo Jungle have existed throughout the [[Donkey Kong (franchise)|''Donkey Kong'' franchise]], often alongside a different version of Jungle Hijinxs. They share a common distinction of being a large jungle area serving as both the starting location and the location of DK's Tree House. The first instance of this is in ''[[Donkey Kong 64]]'', where DK's Tree House is the central location of a wide area within DK Isles, but the first level, [[Jungle Japes]], is based on Jungle Hijinxs. The second instance of this is the [[Jungle World]] in ''[[DK: King of Swing]]''. The third and most recent instance is the [[Jungle (Donkey Kong Country Returns)|Jungle]] in ''[[Donkey Kong Country Returns]]'' (though it has been suggested that it and Kongo Jungle are the same location<ref>{{media link|Kynan Pearson in Twitter (08, 12, 2021).png|''Kynan Pearson'' on Twitter (retrieved on August, 12, 2021)}}</ref>). There is a [[Jungle (Donkey Kong)|Jungle]] world in the [[Game Boy]] title ''[[Donkey Kong (Game Boy)|Donkey Kong]]'', but it does not have as much of an established connection to Kongo Jungle, especially because the game was released prior to ''Donkey Kong Country''.
