They make cameo appearances in ''[[Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour]]'' and ''[[WarioWare: Smooth Moves]]'', where they would pop out of the ground if the ball was hit in a flower patch. On top of this cameo, Pikmin appear as [[Captain Olimar]]'s exclusive assist characters in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]''. Although not exactly playable, Olimar is completely helpless if he does not [[Pikmin Pluck|pluck]] Pikmin from the ground. Without them, Olimar can't even use a [[Smash Attack]], so Pikmin must always be out on the field if Olimar is to be used properly. However, the Pikmin may also scatter across the stage, making it hard for Olimar to attack correctly. If these problems are countered, Olimar is able to battle his opponents. Pikmin are a plant species and the namesake of the video game series, Pikmin. They have cameoed in Mario games twice thus far, but their main role is in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where they are assistants to Captain Olimar.

Super Smash Bros. series

Pikmin serve Captain Olimar in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Although they are technically not playable, Olimar is almost completely helpless without them, for they are featured in all of Olimar's Special Moves, and presumably some of his Smash Attacks. As such, they must be plucked from the ground.
