PokémonPokémon are a non-Mario species, which is currently made up of 493 members, in the PokémonPokémon Series, that each have unique abilities. There are 17 different elemental types of PokémonPokémon; each element affects what the PokémonPokémon's attacks, abilities and weaknesses are. For example, Pikachu, being an Electric PokémonPokémon, specializes in electrical attacks, which can easily defeat Flying and Water PokémonPokémon, but in turn are weak against Grass PokémonPokémon and ineffective against Ground PokémonPokémon. Another factor that separates PokémonPokémon from traditional animals is that after meeting certain conditions, the PokémonPokémon will evolution into a different PokémonPokémon. For example, a Pichu can evolve into a Pikachu, and a Pikachu can then later evolve into its final form Raichu. PokémonPokémon live in the wild, but are caught by PokémonPokémon Trainers to have as pets or to battle with other PokémonPokémon competitively.

Some select PokémonPokémon have interacted with characters in the Mario series, most notably in the Super Smash Bros. competitions. Not only are some competitors, but if a player throws a PokéPoké Ball, then a random PokémonPokémon comes out and effects the gameplay in some way. These PokéPoké Ball PokémonPokémon don't hurt the player who sent them out, with the exception of Electrode and Wobbuffet.

Saffron City PokémonPokémon
On the Saffron City stage, there is a small garage on the right side of the stage. Most of the time, the gate to the garage is closed, but when it opens, it means one of the following PokémonPokémon will show up in a short time. Characters entering the garage will cause a PokémonPokémon to attack immediately.

|Bulbasaur
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
9/98
|align=left|Bulbasaur is a cute PokémonPokémon born with a large seed firmly affixed to its back; the seed grows in size as the PokémonPokémon does. Along with Squirtle and Charmander, Bulbasaur is one of three PokémonPokémon available at the beginning of PokémonPokémon Red & Blue. It evolves first into Ivysaur and ultimately into Venusaur.
|-
|Venusaur
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|Evolving from Ivysaur, this deceptively toxic PokémonPokémon has a huge flower on its back that emits a cloying fragrance: the scent lulls its enemies into a state of calmness. Venusaur's flower synthesizes sunshine into pure energy for its Solarbeam move. Think of Grass- and Poison-type PokémonPokémon and Venusaur comes first.
|-
|Charizard
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|It's hard to believe, but this massive flame PokémonPokémon evolves from the tiny Charmander. Not only can it fly at heights of over 4,500 feet, but it's flaming breath is hot enough to reduce almost anything to ashes in seconds. The flames at the end of a Charizard's tail are said to be a fairly accurate barometer of its power.
|-
|Squirtle
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|Retreating into its shell and spitting water at its foes is Squirtle's trademark response to danger. It's one of the three PokémonPokémon that trainers can receive from Professor Oak in PokémonPokémon Red and Blue. Squirtle evolves into Wartortle and then Blastoise, ramping up its water powers with each evolution.
|-
|Blastoise
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|Blastoise is the next evolutionary step after Wartortle. The thick jets of water they shoot from the cannons on their backs are strong enough to cut through steel plating. When in danger, they hide inside their armored shells. Blastoise is so popular among trainers that it's considered the definitive Water-type.
|-
|Pikachu
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|It's safe to say that Pikachu is the most famous and popular of all PokémonPokémon. It has electric pouches in both cheeks; when in danger, it shoots electricity at its enemies. Although Pikachu can evolve into Raichu by exposure to a Thunderstone, many trainers like Pikachu so much that they don't let it evolve.
|-
|Pikachu [Smash]
Line 361:
|Clefairy
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|Clefairy are very cute PokémonPokémon, which makes them popular pets. However, as they're only found in a few areas, it takes a lot of work to find one. Strangely enough, legend has it that Clefairy are more active during the full moon. These PokémonPokémon are known to use Metronome, a move that unleashes a randomly selected attack.
|-
|Jigglypuff
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|This balloon PokémonPokémon invites its opponents in close with its big, round eyes and then puts them to sleep with a soothing lullaby. It puffs itself up when angry, and while it may look adorable, it's not to be trifled with; it knows several powerful techniques. Jigglypuff evolves into Wigglytuff after exposure to a Moon Stone.
|-
|Jigglypuff [Smash]
Line 381:
|Electrode
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|Electrode, an electric ball PokémonPokémon, is the evolved form of Voltorb. It has the tendency to explode with even the slightest provocation, which has earned it the nickname "Wrecking Ball." Electrode is the quickest PokémonPokémon found to date, and its distinct white-over-red coloring is the opposite of Voltorb's.
|-
|Weezing
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|The evolved form of Koffing. Weezing is basically a pair of Koffing fused together. They tend to float in the air and emit gas or noxious smoke from the outgrowths that cover their bodies. As strange as it may seem, diluting Weezing emissions as much as possible creates one of the most exquisite perfumes known to man.
|-
|Chansey
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|Renowned for its kind temperament, Chansey has been known to offer injured creatures a highly nutritious egg to aid their recovery. Legend has it that this charitable creature brings happiness to anyone who captures it. All Chansey are female, and every now and then one is found in possession of a Lucky Egg.
|-
|Goldeen
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|These Water-types are often referred to as "water dancers," as their elegant fins make them incredibly agile underwater. They can even travel upstream in rapids at a speed of five knots; of course they're not quite as nimble on dry land. Goldeen's Horn Drill is so strong that it can KO an enemy with one strike if it connects.
|-
|Staryu
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|These star-shaped PokémonPokémon that evolve into Starmie are found in large numbers at the seashore. At night, Staryu's red center glows and blinks on and off. It's said that as long as its red center remains, it can regrow its limbs. Whether it's related to Cleffa, another PokémonPokémon with a vaguely star-shaped appearance, is unknown.
|-
|Ditto
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
9/98
|align=left|Every Ditto has the ability to copy a PokémonPokémon's entire cell structure in an instant and become its exact replica. They're terrible at remembering techniques, but when they use Transform, they temporarily learn all of their foe's moves. If a Ditto starts to laugh, it weakens and can't hold it's transformation.
|-
|Eevee
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
9/98
|align=left|As adaptable a PokémonPokémon as any yet discovered, Eevee's evolutionary progress changes to meet the conditions of its environment. So far, five evolutionary forms have been discovered and then catalogued for this unique PokémonPokémon: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, and Umbreon. All evolutions have special benefits.
|-
|Snorlax
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|Snorlax love to sleep and love to eat: these portly PokémonPokémon get grumpy if they don't get 880 pounds of food per day. After snacking out, they always nap. They have cast-iron stomachs and can eat moldy and even rotten food with no digestion problems. They are the heaviest PokémonPokémon on record, weighing in at over 1,000 pounds.
|-
|Articuno
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|Clouds gather, the barometer plunges, and fresh snow falls from the frigid air when this legendary PokémonPokémon takes wing. Graceful and elegant, it boasts long tail feathers that flap in the wind and are lovely to behold. As would be expected, its combat moves are based on its cold nature; they include Ice Beam and Blizzard.
|-
|Zapdos
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|Zapdos flaps its wings, and summer storms appear, throwing lightning every which way. It's said that you can hear this legendary PokémonPokémon coming, as its wings make a very distinctive popping sound as it flies. In addition to electrical moves like the dreaded Thunder, it also wields a vicious move called Drill Peck.
|-
|Moltres
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|As tradition has it, the onset of spring heralds the return of this legendary PokémonPokémon from its southern home. Its bright orange color and fiery aspect lends to its overwhelming appearance. Sky Attack, the strongest of flying moves, is a perfect fit for this burning phenom, but it obviously also excels at powerful Fire-type moves.
|-
|Mewtwo
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|A genetically created PokémonPokémon, Mewtwo is the result of many long years of research by a solitary scientist. Although Mewtwo was cloned from the genes of the legendary PokémonPokémon Mew, its size and character are far different than its ancestor. Its battle abilities have been radically heightened, making it ruthless.
|-
|Mewtwo [Smash]
Line 451:
|Mew
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|Mew is an extremely rare PokémonPokémon that has been seen by only a few people. Information on every PokémonPokémon in the world is contained in Mew's cell structure, so it has the ability to use any and all TMs and HMs. Some PokémonPokémon scholars believe Mew to be the ancestor of all existing PokémonPokémon, but the idea is debatable.
|-
|Chikorita
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|Chikorita was one of the first three PokémonPokémon available in PokémonPokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. A Grass-type PokémonPokémon, it emits a delightful fragrance from the leaves on its head and loves to spend its time leisurely sunbathing. When called into battle, it uses its Razor Leaf move to strike at opponents' weak points.
|-
|Cyndaquil
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|Cyndaquil frighten easily, so they're often found curled up in balls. When threatened, they flare the flames on their backs to drive off enemies. Cyndaquil was one of the three PokémonPokémon that trainers could choose from at the beginning of PokémonPokémon Silver, Gold, and Crystal. No one knows if their eyes are open.
|-
|Totodile
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|Little but feisty is the best description for these Water-type PokémonPokémon. The first thing they do when they see something move is latch onto it with their powerful jaws. Totodile was one of the three PokémonPokémon the Professor Elm offered to trainers in PokémonPokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. They evolve into Croconaw.
|-
|Crobat
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|A bat PokémonPokémon that evolves from Golbat. Crobat's hind legs have evolved into a second pair of wings, which allows it to fly at great speeds but limits its ability to rest. The affection a Golbat has for its trainer is vital for the evolution process: if a novice trainer has a Crobat, it shows that he or she cares for PokémonPokémon well.
|-
|Pichu
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|A baby Electric-type PokémonPokémon identifiable by its big ears. Pichu evolves into Pikachu. It's not very skilled at storing up electrical energy and will sometimes discharge it if jarred. Although it's small, it has enough electrical power to give even an adult quite a shock. It's often startled by its own power.
|-
|Pichu [Smash]
Line 491:
|Cleffa
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|With silhouettes that resemble stars, Cleffa are often sighted when the night sky is filled with shooting stars. Cleffa evolves into Clefairy, but only if it has a strong bond of friendship with its trainer. Since Cleffa are so cute and loveable, many trainers choose to keep it in this unevolved form.
|-
|Igglybuff
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|Igglybuff, which evolve into Jigglypuff, are so incredibly elastic that they always seem to be bouncing. They have extremely stubby legs, so for these PokémonPokémon, bounding from place to place is much faster than walking. Unlike its equally adorable relatives, Jigglypuff and Wigglytuff, Igglybuff has red eyes.
|-
|Togepi
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|These adorable spike-shelled PokémonPokémon hatch from eggs given out by Professor Elm's assistant. Common superstition holds that their shells are chock-full of happiness and that they become good-luck charms when handled with kindness. It's impossible to predict which ability a Togepi will call upon when it uses its Metronome move, so you'd better be ready.
|-
|Bellossom
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|From time to time, these beautiful flower PokémonPokémon will gather in numbers and perform an odd sort of dance to call out the sun. While in the midst of this strange exhibition, their petals brush together to create a peaceful and soothing melody. A Gloom will only evolve into a Bellossom if it's exposed to a Sun Stone.
|-
|Marill
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|This water-mouse PokémonPokémon evolves into Azumarill. The round ball on the end of its tail acts like a flotation device, so it can float safely in the roughest of water conditions. It resides on Mt. Mortar in seclusion; few of the creatures are ever seen. Marill's cuteness has earned it a large and loyal fan base.
|-
|Sudowoodo
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|A copycat PokémonPokémon with an aversion to battle, Sudowoodo always poses as a tree in order to avoid being attacked. Despite their arboreal appearance, these PokémonPokémon are actually Rock-types, and therefore highly vulnerable to water. When it begins to rain, they vanish. Sudowoodo can be found blocking Route 36 in Johto.
|-
|Unown
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|These Psychic-type symbol PokémonPokémon resemble ancient hieroglyphics found on rocks, a resemblance that's said to be more than superficial. Quite a few different shapes of Unown have been confirmed, and it's believed that each type has unique abilities. These enigmatic PokémonPokémon can be found in the Ruins of Alph.
|-
|Wobbuffet
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|A patient PokémonPokémon, Wobbuffet lives in darkness to hide its mismatched black tail. Even for a stoic PokémonPokémon, this creature is a testament to self-control; it will not actively attack an opponent. Its Counter and Mirror Coat moves are solely used for reflecting attacks directly back at its antagonist.
|-
|Steelix
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|A combination of Steel- and Gound-types, Steelix are the longest PokémonPokémon yet to be discovered, reaching over 30 feet in length. Since they live so deep under the surface of the earth, the intense pressure has made their bodies stronger than diamonds. Evolved from Onix, Steelix is every bit as intimidating as its relative.
|-
|Scizor
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|This evolved form of Scyther has arms ending in large pincers with distinctive eye-spot markings. Its evolution also includes the addition of a tough Metal Coat. It's unable to fly very far with its wings, but it can affect its body temperature by flapping them at high speeds. Its sleek look has made Scizor quite popular among collectors.
|-
|Heracross
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|Heracross are powerful creatures that are known to drive their single horns into the bellies of their foes and then toss them over their heads. The immense power of their Megahorn move is said to be strongest among insectoid PokémonPokémon. They are one of several types of PokémonPokémon that can be found by shaking trees.
|-
|Porygon2
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|Representing the next step in technological progress, this virtual PokémonPokémon is a higher powered version of the man-made PokémonPokémon, Porygon. Compared to the sharp edges of its relative, Porygon2's body is extremely smooth and rounded. In battle, it utilizes a special move called Conversion 2 to alter its type.
|-
|Raikou
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|These violent lightning PokémonPokémon travel near and far, blasting out electrified whirlwinds. They carry storm clouds on their backs so they can produce lightning regardless of the local weather; it's even said that they descended to the earth via lightning bolts. Their extreme quickness lends itself to flight, so they're very hard to capture.
|-
|Entei
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|A volcanic Fire-type, Entei is hotter than liquid magma and as tough as nails. This powerful creature was one of the three PokémonPokémon running around the Burned Tower of Ecruteak City. Entei is extremely difficult to capture, as it tends to wander all over the landscape, sprouting intense flames from its body.
|-
|Suicune
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|This mystical aurora PokémonPokémon constantly journeys in search of places with pure flowing water. Suicune wields the power to instantly purify any contaminated water it finds. Some say Suicune is the north wind reborn. Its strange and dramatic story is told over the course of the Crystal version of the PokémonPokémon game.
|-
|Lugia
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|The waters of the Whirl Islands are home to this legendary PokémonPokémon, whom few have seen. Lugia lives quietly in the deepest ocean trenches for one very good reason: its combined aerial and psychic powers are so strong as to be extremely dangerous. The special moves of this gargantuan creature include the destructive win assault known as Aeroblast.
|-
|Ho-oh
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|As it soars around the skies of the world, this multicolored flying PokémonPokémon leaves a trail of rainbows and myths in its wake. Its signature move is called Sacred Fire, and it is believed to appear only before trainers who are pure of heart. If you see a trainer with Ho-oh, you can assume that catching it took a lot of work.
|-
|Celebi
|
|PokémonPokémon Gold & Silver
10/00
|align=left|Celebi has the power to travel through time, and thus wanders from one age to the next. It is considered a deity by the forests: plants and trees are said to grow in unimaginable abundance wherever Celebi visits. Like Mew, Celebi is a PokémonPokémon shrouded in mystery. Its special techniques blend grass and psychic powers.
|-
|Meowth
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
9/98
|align=left|This... is Meowth's dream. Meowth strides all over the globe, scattering invitations to other PokémonPokémon insisting they come to "Meowth's Party." At this wonderful party, guests are packed in like sardines as Meowth climbs up the stage with its faithful guitar. It strikes a chord, pauses, and then rocks their world!
|-
|Professor Oak
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
9/98
|align=left|The leading expert on the study of PokémonPokémon. It seems there are always new and mysterious species of PokémonPokémon being brought to light, and Professor Oak is at the heart of it all with his insightful research. The PokédexPokédex is one of his inventions: new trainers receive one, and a PokémonPokémon to boot, when they start out.
|-
|Misty
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
9/98
|align=left|Misty's the gym leader of Cerulean City and a real tomboy. She loves swimming and all things aquatic, so she makes a point of collecting Starmie, Staryu, and other Water-type PokémonPokémon. This is common among gym-leaders: typically the PokémonPokémon kept by trainers tend to reflect that person's personality and preferences.
|-
|ZERO-ONE
|
|PokémonPokémon Snap
7/99
|align=left|Many wild PokémonPokémon live on PokémonPokémon Island, and avid cameraman Todd uses the ZERO-ONE as his means to get close to them. The ZERO-ONE is fully automated: its progress is monitored by a series of strategically located beacons. The vehicle can instantly change its shape to allow it to travel by land, water and air.
|-
|PokéPoké Ball
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
09/98
|align=left|These balls are used to capture and contain wild PokémonPokémon. Most PokémonPokémon must be weakened in some way before they can be captured, but once they're inside a PokéPoké Ball, they enjoy their new home, since PokéPoké Balls contain an environment specially designed for PokémonPokémon comfort. Master Balls are the strongest type.

In Spear Pillar, one of the three PokémonPokémon above will appear periodically to attack fighters or change the stage itself. Dialga can slow down time as well as create a red burst of energy from its body, damaging fighters. Palkia can reverse the stage, also reversing the controls. Palkia can also change the gravity of the arena. Both PokémonPokémon can cause parts of the stage to crumble, rotate the stage anywhere from slightly to 180 degrees, and create a laser beam that will damage players.

Cresselia is somewhat rarer and its only attack is flinging large crescent-moon shaped barbs around the stage. It cannot alter the stage in any of the ways Dialga and Palkia can.

|align=left|A Seed PokémonPokémon. From birth, Bulbasaur carries a large plant seed on its back. It uses the nutrients from the seed to grow bigger and bigger. Extended exposure to the sun will cause its body and seed to grow in size. Some say that once, when the seed was much lighter, Bulbasaur was able to get around on two legs. Bulbasaur evolves into Ivysaur.

|align=left|A Seed PokémonPokémon that is the evolved form of Bulbasaur. It has a flower bulb on its back, the weight of which has made it develop strong legs and hips. If the blossom gets too big, the PokémonPokémon can't stand on two legs alone. At a certain level, it evolves into Venusaur. When this happens, the bulb absorbs nutrients and blossoms into a large-petaled flower.

|align=left|A Lizard PokémonPokémon. It just downright likes hot stuff. The always-burning tail indicates its mood--waving gently when content and burning intensely when angry. If the tail were to go out, it would be the end of Charmander's life. Its tail is believed to emit steam when it rains.
Charmander evolves into Charmeleon by leveling up.

It's a proud PokémonPokémon that will never use its flame breath on an opponent weaker than itself. The flame on its tail is a barometer of how much vitality it has remaining. Its signature move, Flamethrower, is a reliable technique.

It uses its ears not only to attack, but also to sense danger--they stand straight up when it senses a threat. Its fluffy fur lets it sleep in warmth and comfort on cold nights. When it levels up, it evolves into Lopunny.
|-
|Bonsly
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|A Bonsai PokémonPokémon. It looks like a plant, but its history reveals it is actually a Rock type. Its best move among all its specialty moves is Fake Tears. As it grows, it will become skilled at using Mimic, which allows it to copy an opponent's previous move. If it levels up under certain conditions, it evolves into Sudowoodo.
|-
|Munchlax
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|A Big Eater PokémonPokémon. It's normally a slow-moving creature, but when it spots food, it moves surprisingly fast. It's native to the Sinnoh region and can be lured out by coating certain trees with sweet honey. Once it's attached to its Trainer, it will level up and evolve into Snorlax.
|-
|Riolu
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|An Emanation PokémonPokémon. It constantly emits Aura energy. When it's frightened or sad, this energy grows stronger and informs its companions of its situation. It's known for its very flexible yet surpassingly powerful body. Thanks to its strength, it can crest three mountains and cross two canyons in a single night. When it levels up, it evolves into Lucario.
|-
|Lucario
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|An Aura PokémonPokémon. It can track energy called Aura, which is given off by all living creatures. It's a unique combination of both Fighting- and Steel-type PokémonPokémon. Lucario evolves from Riolu during the day if its happiness has reached a certain point. It specializes in attacks that use Aura energy, like Dark Pulse and a can't-miss technique, Aura Sphere.

|Snover
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|A Frost Tree PokémonPokémon. It lives in snowy mountains and resembles a wintry peak. In the spring it grows berries that resemble ice candies. In battle it causes a storm to appear, hides itself in fog, and then creates and launches a ball of ice as a preemptive strike. It evolves into Abomasnow.
|-
|Weavile
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|A Sharp Claw PokémonPokémon. The crown on its head resembles a fully opened folding fan. Its sharp, hooked claws and outstanding speed are its most memorable features. It's one PokémonPokémon that can be expected to perform well on the front lines of battle. There are many Trainers who teach it the TM False Swipe and travel with it to catch rare PokémonPokémon.
|-
|Magnezone
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|A Magnet Area PokémonPokémon. It's a Magneton that evolved in a special magnetic field at Mt. Coronet. Its appearance is quite different after it evolves, but it still has three round eyes. Its shape changes but not its type--it's still both an Electric and Steel type. It learns Magnet Rise, a technique that temporarily nullifies Ground-type attacks, a traditional weakness.
|-
|Electivire
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|A Thunderbolt PokémonPokémon that attacks by pressing its two tails against a foe and delivering a shock of over 20,000 volts. When hit with an Electric-type attack, it takes no damage, and its Speed increases. Electabuzz evolves into Electivire if you trade it while it's holding an Electirizer. Electivire is famed for having the strongest physical attacks of Electric-type PokémonPokémon.
|-
|Glaceon & Leafeon
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|A Fresh Snow PokémonPokémon and a Verdant PokémonPokémon. They are both evolutions of Eevee. Eevee can evolve into seven different PokémonPokémon depending on what it has in its possession and where it is when it evolves. Glaceon is an Ice type and can freeze all the fur on its body into protective quills. Leafeon is a Grass type, and the air around it is always fresh and clean.
|-
|Uxie
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|A Knowledge PokémonPokémon. It's said that Uxie's emergence gave humans the wisdom to improve their lives. This PokémonPokémon possesses the ability to erase the memory of those who see its eyes. Uxie uses status-altering moves in battle--its frequent use of Yawn is very effective in putting foes to sleep. Uxie makes its home in Lake Acuity in the Sinnoh region.
|-
|Mesprit
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|An Emotion PokémonPokémon said to have taught humans emotions. Rumor is, if you touch Mesprit, you'll lose all emotions three days later. It sleeps at the base of Lake Verity, but once engaged in battle, it will rise from the water to fly around the Sinnoh region. Even if you see this PokémonPokémon after your initial meeting, it'll try to flee battle, so catching it is quite a task.
|-
|Azelf
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|A Willpower PokémonPokémon. Born from the same Egg as Uxie and Mesprit, this PokémonPokémon maintains the balance of things in the world from the bottom of Lake Valor. Some say that anyone who injures it will become unable to perform any kind of action after seven days. It wields many strong attacks, like the devastating Last Resort. It can also protect itself from sleep attacks with Uproar.
|-
|Dialga
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|A Temporal PokémonPokémon. This legendary PokémonPokémon is talked about as a deity in fables passed down through generations in the Sinnoh region. Identifiable by the diamondlike crystal in the center of its chest, Dialga is said to have set time in motion at the moment of its birth. Its fearsome Roar of Time attack is so powerful that it must refrain from attacking on the next turn.
|-
|Palkia
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|A Spatial PokémonPokémon. In the Sinnoh region, this PokémonPokémon has been revered for many generations, much like Dialga. Dialga warps time, but Palkia has control over space. It lives between parallel dimensions and is known for its power, rumored to be able to warp space. It can use Spatial Rend to rip through the very space an enemy resides in, damaging the foe at the same time.
|-
|Cresselia
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|A Lunar PokémonPokémon. Cresselia appears on Fullmoon Island and, once discovered, flies around different areas of Sinnoh. Its signature move, Lunar Dance, causes Cresselia to faint but recovers all the HP and cures the status conditions of the next PokémonPokémon its Trainer sends out. Cresselia excels at recovery techniques and is unusual in that it appears only in female form.
|-
|Manaphy
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|A Seafaring PokémonPokémon. Eighty percent of its body is made of water. It has the ability Hydration, which allows it to heal status effects at the end of a turn if it's raining. It is the only PokémonPokémon that can use the stat-effect-swapping move called Heart Swap. Place a Manaphy and a Ditto in a PokémonPokémon Day Care, and they will produce an Egg that contains a Phione.
|-
|Darkrai
|
|PokémonPokémon Diamond & Pearl
2007
|align=left|A Pitch-Black PokémonPokémon. It becomes active on nights of the new moon. This legendary PokémonPokémon has the power to lull people to sleep and fill their heads with dreams. Proverbs say that Darkrai will make people have terrifying dreams on moonless nights. A Dark-type PokémonPokémon, Darkrai uses the Dark Void move, along with Embargo, which stops foes from using held items.
|-
|PokémonPokémon Trainer
|
|PokémonPokémon Red & Blue
1998
|align=left|A person who raises PokémonPokémon and trains them as partners in battle. In battle, a Trainer gives orders to the PokémonPokémon and uses items. It's not an exaggeration to say battles can be won or lost on a Trainer's single strategic move. Trainers pour their hearts into their PokémonPokémon and share anger, sadness, and joy as they adventure in hopes of becoming PokémonPokémon Masters.
|-
|PokémonPokémon Trainer
(Final Smash)
|
|
|align=left|The Final Smash of the PokémonPokémon Trainer. Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard join forces to simultaneously use Hydro Pump, SolarBeam, and Fire Blast. This is the only time all three of them appear on the screen together, so this move boasts the strength of three in one. A window will appear on the screen, but don't worry about it.

Trivia
*All of the PokémonPokémon that appear in PokéPoké Balls in Super Smash Bros. Melee are based on their design in the game PokémonPokémon Stadium 2.
**Additionally, in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the 3rd generation PokémonPokémon and 4th generation PokémonPokémon that pop out of PokéPoké Balls are based on their designs from the games PokémonPokémon Colosseum and PokémonPokémon Battle Revolution.
*In the opening cinema of Super Smash Bros. Melee, several PokémonPokémon appear at the same time. Oddly, many of them do not appear in PokéballsPokéballs, nor do they have trophies.
**Similarly, several PokémonPokémon appear as floats in PokéPoké Floats, who have the same case as the aformentioned PokémonPokémon.
*Of all Nintendo series put into Super Smash Bros. Melee, the PokémonPokémon series had the most unlockable playable characters; Jigglypuff, Pichu, and Mewtwo.
*In the PokémonPokémon Series games LeafGreen and FireRed, if the player walks up to a TV in Saffron City and presses the A button, the message will say, "It's a game with Mario wearing a bucket on his head!"
