Princess Peach: Difference between revisions

Peach has always been a playable participant in the [[Mario Kart (series)|''Mario Kart'' series]]. In ''[[Super Mario Kart]]'', when controlled by the CPU, Peach sometimes uses mushrooms to shrink the other drivers. In ''[[Mario Kart: Double Dash!!]]'', Peach is teamed up with her cousin [[Princess Daisy|Daisy]], and their special item is the [[Heart (item)|Heart]]. Peach's personal kart in ''Mario Kart Double Dash!!'' is the [[Heart Coach]], which is available by default. In ''[[Mario Kart DS]]'', her karts are the [[Royale]] and the [[Light Tripper]]. In Mission Mode, she has to race against [[King Boo]]. She is advanced at drifting corners and has average item use. Peach is classified Medium in ''Mario Kart: Double Dash!!'', but Light in ''Mario Kart DS''. Peach appears in ''[[Mario Kart Wii]]'' as a Medium-size driver, unlike ''Mario Kart DS'' and has an Acceleration Bonus Stat of +5 making her the easiest Medium driver to reach top speed; in this game, she also wears a biking outfit when the player chooses motorbikes (more details about this outfit can be found [[#Biker Outfit|here]]). In ''Mario Kart 7'', Peach is classified as a light racer. Peach is a returning playable racer in ''[[Mario Kart 8]]'', and she retains her jumpsuit from ''Mario Kart Wii'' when she uses bikes or ATVs, while her signature dress is used exclusively for karts. [[Pink Gold Peach]], a character who appears to be to Peach what [[Metal Mario (character)|Metal Mario]] is to Mario, is also introduced as an unlockable playable character in this game.

When the dedicated Mario sports installments started with ''Mario Golf'' and ''Mario Tennis'' for the Nintendo 64, Peach's sports uniform was her same classic gown, except it was shorter and she was not wearing gloves. Additionally, she was wearing white knee-highs as well as orange-and-beige tennis shoes as well for that outfit. However, when the GameCube Mario sports installments came around, Peach started to have more variety in her sports attire. For ''Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour'', Peach wore a sporty miniskirt to match the theme of her current main gown (Peach's miniskirt can also be unlocked as an alternate costume in the later games ''Mario Hoops 3-on-3'' and Mario ''Sports Mix''). In the case of other primary Mario sports installments that required Peach to be more active, she wears an outfit which has the same design as the outfit [[Princess Daisy#Sports Wear|Princess Daisy]] had worn in previous installments where Peach had the miniskirt. The outfit in question includes a pink tank top and pink shorts, as well as the white bobby socks and red-and-pink tennis shoes from the miniskirt. The tank top has white-rimmed arms, and the shorts have white rims at the legs, and two white curved lines running from the side seams to the front waist. Peach's two-piece sports attire was first seen overall in her cameo appearance for the GameCube version of ''NBA Street V3'', and has since become her primary athletic outfit, while her miniskirt became known as "Tennis Wear".

In ''[[Mario Kart Wii]]'' and ''[[Mario Kart 8]]'', Peach gains a new outfit when riding motorbikes. The jumpsuit is white with pink vertical lines going down Peach's arms and legs. Her accessories include a pink scarf, a pink belt with a white buckle, pink boots, and pink gloves. Along with that accompanies her traditional jewelry. There is also a heart-shaped pattern on her back. [[Princess Daisy#Motorbike Gear|Daisy]] and [[Rosalina#Athletic Wear|Rosalina]] also have a similar outfit design like Peach's, but with different color schemes as a result to match their respective themes and uniqueness.

Other female participants in ''Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games'' wear winter clothing for this installment as well. [[Princess Daisy#Winter Wear|Princess Daisy]] wears an outfit in the same fashion as Peach. The overall design of Daisy's outfit is similar to Peach's; however, differences include color scheme and the obligatory elements to match her unique persona.

There is much confusion surrounding Peach and Toadsworth's relationship; however, it is understood from many Mario series' installments since the events of ''Super Mario Sunshine'' that Toadsworth is Peach's steward. It is also known that Toadsworth is very protective of and has cared for her ever since she was [[Baby Peach|a baby]]. [[Princess Daisy]] widely thought to be Peach's best friend was rumored to be her cousin for many years until Nintendo confirmed these rumors to be true in April 2018.

Like Luigi, the two share good chemistry in the game ''Mario Superstar Baseball'', and she appears as the second member of Peach's team in Challenge Mode. Nintendo's ''Mario Power Tennis'' website says that Daisy is Peach's "sister in arms", a term used to describe a close friendship. In the ''Mario Kart: Double Dash!!'' and ''Mario Kart Wii'' official guides published by [[Prima Games|Prima]] and licensed by Nintendo, Daisy's biographies state that Peach is her cousin.
