'''Slurples''' (also called '''Swoopin' Poinks''') are health-sucking space leeches in ''[[Super Mario Galaxy]]'' and ''[[Super Mario Galaxy 2]]''. They look very similar to [[Swoopin' Stu]]s and/or [[Poink]]s from ''[[Super Mario Sunshine]]'' and act like [[Fuzzy|Fuzzies]] from the [[Paper Mario (series)|''Paper Mario'' series]]. Slurples have light blue skin, big eyes and snouts. They move by bouncing and will attack by latching on to [[Mario]] and draining health from him like alien leeches. In addition to damage, Mario's movement speed is slowed while a Slurple is attached to him. Despite their attack methods, they are extremely weak. They can be defeated with a [[spin]] or a flung [[Star Bit]]. If hit with a Star Bit, they will yield three additional Star Bits, while they will only yield one if spun. They can also be defeated by obstacles such as [[Boulder]]s.
