*The name "Smashville" is a reference to the fact that players can name their town in ''Animal Crossing'' anything they want. However, with the town character limit of 8, "Smashville" is two letters too long to enter in the four ''Animal Crossing'' games.

*The [[Villager]], a character who would go on to be a playable character for ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U]]'', can sometimes be seen as a spectator in the background of this stage, albeit with a different haircut.
