Captain Syrup also called him "handsome" in her latest appearance in ''[[Wario Land: Shake It!]]'', however this was probably not an honest sentiment as she is Wario's greatest nemesis besides Mario, appearing in various ''Wario Land'' games where she measures up to him in terms of both wit and greed. Wario is also on bad terms with Bowser, mercilessly taunting each other in ''Mario Superstar Baseball'' and possibly sharing some rivalry, as shown in the opening movie of ''[[Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour]]''. While they teamed up in ''Mario Power Tennis'' against the Mario Bros., this is the exception rather than the norm, with Wario helping to defeat Bowser in ''Super Mario 64 DS'', and Bowser stopping Wario from destroying Mario in ''Mario Super Sluggers'' out of a desire to finish their mutual foe off himself.
One character that Wario ''is'' on good terms with is his brother Waluigi, with the two sharing good chemistry in the baseball games and teaming up in a number of sports and spinoff titles. The two share many aspects of their personalities and even looks, with a number of sources stating that they are in fact brothers, such as the European ''[[Mario Kart DS]]'' website's statement that Waluigi was "Wario's weird sibling" in the description for the [[Waluigi Pinball (Mario Kart DS)|Waluigi Pinball]] track as well as the ''Mario Kart Wii'' Prima Guide. Other sources contradict this idea, however, with the DS version of ''[[Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games]]'' stating that they are cousins and Waluigi’s ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'' trophy merely stating that any kinship is unconfirmed. Wario merely calls Waluigi his "traitor friend" when the two were briefly in opposition in ''Mario Super Sluggers'', and Charles Martinet, who voices both characters, has stated his belief that they are simply "two evil guys who found each other". There has been debate about the status of their relationship for years (whether they're brothers, cousins, or just friends) however on April 5, 2018, [[Nintendo]] put the rumors to rest by releasing a statement confirming that Wario and Waluigi are in fact brothers.
