McVader, I know what you mean. What I'm saying is, the Subspace Emissary does not refer to the storyline. It refers to the Game Mode itself. The player fights wolf in the game mode. So, he has a role.

After finishing the Subspace Emissary and finding a red door in the ruins stage, then the player will be taken to [[Lylat Cruise]]. The player sees Wolf driving his [[Wolfen]]. He then jumps off the Wolfen, and lands on the cruise. Wolf strikes a pose and then rushes at the player attacking him or her. After defeat, he joins the party.
