A Bumper is a shield-like item in Super Smash Bros. It remained on the ground when thrown, damaging players who bumped into it, hence then name Bumper. There was also a bumper floating above the Peach's Castle stage. For unknown reasons, the Flipper, which is just like the Bumper, took its place in Super Smash Bros. Melee, though in Super Smash Bros. Brawl the Bumper makes its reappearance.
