Flame GearsBurners have a similar design to [[Bill Blaster]]s; however, Flamebut Gears (true to their name)they emit flames -instead they do not shoot outof [[Bullet Bill]]s. The flames stay blowing for a few seconds, then stop for a while. [[Mario]] and [[Luigi]] must use this time to navigate through or around them. In addition, Flame GearsBurners can be mounted on either wall, the floor or the ceiling so their flames can blow in any direction. [[Tanooki Mario]], in [[Statue Mario|statue]] form, can temporarily disable the flames, but only until the next time. Besides their use on Airships, one tank within the first tank level in [[Castle of Koopa (World)|Castle of Koopa]] was shown with a Flame GearBurner, although it's position (being one of the pipe-cannons) implies that its use was closer to a flamethrower.

Flame GearsBurners also are in ''[[New Super Mario Bros.]]'' and ''[[New Super Mario Bros. Wii]]''. In the former, they are stationary, while they can turn in the sequel.

In ''[[Super Mario Galaxy]]'', four Flame GearsBurners appear on the Saucer Planet of [[Good Egg Galaxy]]. Here, they act just like [[Bill Blaster]]s, but shoot out a small explosion. If Mario is standing directly over the opening when it fires, he will get hurt.

Flame GearsBurners with blue flames also appear in the [[Nintendo 3DS]] game, ''[[Super Mario 3D Land]]''. They are appear on Airship levels, just like they did in ''Super Mario Bros. 3'', and in some ground levels, like [[World 8-2 (Super Mario 3D Land)|World 8-2]].

Flame GearsBurners reappear in [[Mario Kart 7]] on the course Airship Fortress they act just like they did in Mario Kart DS burning the player if they come into contact with them.

Flame GearsBurners reappear in ''[[New Super Mario Bros. 2]]''. They are found in several castles and fortresses.

Flame GearsBurners also appear in [[Hazard Hold]], from ''[[Mario Party 9]]'', being obstacles that the solo player can control.

The Flame GearsBurners appear in ''[[New Super Mario Bros. U]]'', and are present in courses like [[Boarding the Airship]] and [[Larry's Torpedo Castle]].
