Set in a futuristic world, the ''F-Zero'' games consist of high-speed racing with an aesthetic based on American comic books. While the series is relatively obscure and has not received a new game since 2004, it has a notable cult following for its complex gameplay and for its main character [[Captain Falcon]].
''F-Zero'' has had multiple crossovers with the [[Mario (franchise)|''Mario'' franchise]]. Most notably, Captain Falcon has been playable in all four [[Super Smash Bros.
