The F-Zero series is a series of racing games created by Nintendo. Set in a futuristic world, the F-Zero games consist of high-speed racing with an aesthetic based on American comic books. While the series is relatively obscure and has not received a new game since 2004, it has a notable cult following for its complex gameplay and for its main character Captain Falcon.
F-Zero has had multiple crossovers with the Mario franchise. Most notably, Captain Falcon has been playable in all four Super Smash Bros. games, while Mario Kart 8 contains numerous racing tracks from the series as well as a kart based on the Blue Falcon.
