*Like the other Urami no Iwa, Choropū Men'iwa seem to be based on {{wp|Ikiryō}} from Japanese folklore.
*There are similar [[ghost Monty Mole]]s that appear in [[Super Mario-kun Volume 4|volume 4]] and [[Super Mario-kun Volume 55|volume 55]] as well. However, these ghost Monty Moles seem to be separate from the Choropū Men'iwa (despite both being deceased variants of Monty Mole).
