Brawl]]'', ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS]]'' / ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Wii U|Wii U]]'', and ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]''. It is broken and collected in three parts - the nosecone, hull, and tail, referred to as parts A, B, and C, respectively. Notably, the [[Smash Ball]] will not appear with the parts in play, though once it is used up, the remaining parts may appear again.

Broken into three parts, the players have to collect Dragoon Part A, the nosecone, Dragoon Part B, the hull, and Dragoon Part C, the tail. The [[Smash Ball]] cannot coexist with all three of the Dragoon parts in play. Once the Smash Ball is used up while one or two Dragoon parts are in play, the remaining part(s) can be allowed to appear. Any player can collect any of the three parts of the ship, but when one player has all three at the same time, they can use it to crash into the stage, knocking out all players who are hit by the Dragoon. When players are damaged while holding the Dragoon parts, they may lose a part, meaning that an opponent can easily snag a lost part. The Dragoon parts don't always appear in every single match. When playing a team battle in ''Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U'', unlike in ''Super Smash Bros. Brawl'', if both players on a team collect all three Dragoon parts, the player who collected the final piece for their team is able to use the Dragoon.
 
Any player can collect Dragoon parts, though once a player has all three pieces at one time, they are able to finish assembling the Dragoon, and can then use it to aim and launch into opponents in the battlefield, damaging and potentially knocking them out. However, other variables and factors near these fighters, such as walls and invincibility, may prevent this. If a player is damaged while in possession of a Dragoon part, it is often dropped, allowing a rival to collect the part instead. The Dragoon parts appear rarely and one at a time.
Anyone hit by the Dragoon almost always are KO'd, but certain factors (such as walls, metallic, invincibility, etc.) might prevent the targets from getting KO'd.

In the Subspace Emissary, the Dragoon appears once, and acts similar to the [[Warp Star]] (as [[Kirby]]'s vehicle). In the scene when [[Ganondorf]] and [[Bowser]] just blew up the [[Halberd]], after the explosion happens, almost all of the heroes of the game arrive in their ships ([[Fox McCloud]] in his [[Arwing]], [[Samus Aran|Samus]] in her ship, [[Captain Olimar|Olimar]] in his ship, and everyone else in [[Captain Falcon]]'s ship). They all continue shooting the enemy ship and the enemy's ship also fires back. However, the enemy's ship is so large that the aircrafts do not do much damage to the large ship. Just when it seems the heroes are losing, Kirby comes flying in on the Dragoon and flies straight at the ship's cannon. He flies through it, destroying the cannon in an explosion. The other ships then keep firing at the ship and soon, the whole ship is on flames. However, Ganondorf and Bowser leave into the Subspace right before the whole ship explodes.

In ''Super Smash Bros. Brawl''{{'}}s [[Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary]], the Dragoon makes one appearance, acting similar to the [[Warp Star]]. During the scene in which [[Ganondorf]] and [[Bowser]] have just blown up the [[Halberd]], all of the heroes arrive in their respective ships. They all continue firing at the enemy ship as it fires back. However, as enemy's ship is so large, the aircrafts are not able to inflict enough damage. Just then, [[Kirby]] arrives on his Dragoon and flies straight into the ship's cannon, blowing it up. The other ships resume fire and eventually burst it into flames.
