In ''[[New Super Mario Bros. 2]]'', Fire Chomps exclusively appear in [[World 6-B (New Super Mario Bros. 2)|World 6-B]]. It acts exactly the same as in ''New Super Mario Bros. Wii'', when this enemy runs out of fire, it flashes red and self-destruct seconds later. They can be defeated with a single jump, just like in the previous games.
