In the remake, ''[[Super Mario 64 DS]]'', Fire Chomps replace [[Fire Spitter]]s. They remain motionless and have the same effect as them, shooting a flame at Mario when he approaches, and they can be eaten by [[Yoshi]], allowing him to breathe fire. Because of their replacing Fire Spitters, it is the first, and so far, only appearance of them where they don't self-destruct after running out of fire.
