Grand Goombas reappear in the game ''[[New Super Mario Bros. Wii]]''. Here, when jumped on they split into two Hefty Goombas. A smaller species called [[Hefty Goomba]]s also appear and are smaller than a Grand Goomba. When a Hefty Goomba is jumped on, it splits into two standard Goombas. They appear in the [[World 1 (New Super Mario Bros. Wii)|World 1]] [[Enemy Course]] and in [[World 8-2 (New Super Mario Bros. Wii)|World 8-2]].

In ''[[Super Mario Galaxy 2]]'', Grand Goombas return as enemies. They only appear in the [[Supermassive Galaxy]]. Like in the predecessor, Mario can attack them by spinning them and then kicking them to defeat them. [[Paragoomba]]s also get their own giant counterpart in this game, called [[Huge Paragoomba]]s.

Despite Grand Goombas not appearing in ''[[Super Mario 3D Land]]'', a subspecies called [[Grand Tail Goomba]]s do; they are Grand Goombas that have Tanooki tails. They appear only rarely, and have the same attack pattern as a normal [[Tail Goomba]]. As such, one stomp to the head or swipe of the tail with a Tanooki Suit defeats one, but gives three coins instead of one for a normal Goomba.
