Mega Monty Mole later reappears as a boss in ''[[Mario Party: Star Rush]]''. In this game, he is fought in the boss minigame [[Mega Monty Mole's in the Hole]] and is fought similarly to [[Lemmy Koopa|Lemmy]] and [[Wendy O. Koopa|Wendy]] in ''[[Super Mario World]]'' utilizing dummies to fake out players and the fight takes more of a Whack-A-Mole approach. During the minigame, Mega Monty Mole pokes out of the various holes in the grounds alongside his various fused decoys and players (armed with their hammers) have to score hits on Mega Monty Mole to earn points whilst avoiding the explosive fakes (which cause players to lose points). Players must keep an eye on Mega Monty Mole and his fakes in order to succeed, it's generally easy to tell the fakes apart from the real Mega Monty Mole as the fakes don't move and have fuses. When Mega Monty Mole is enraged, more fakes will show up leaving more room for error and picking up the challenge a bit. After Mega Monty Mole's defeat, he explodes once again and whoever has the most points is the winner.
