A '''meteor smash''' is an attack in the [[Super Smash Bros. (series)|''Super Smash Bros.'' series]] that causes the enemy to fly directly downwards when hit. Because of this, they are usually difficult, though not impossible, to recover from. Meteor smashes also have variations called '''spikes''', which function the same in terms of knockback physics, but differ in the fact that they are completely impossible to recover from.
