In Mario Super Sluggers, Monty Mole maintains their position as a member of Mario's team. While Monty Mole's best stat continues to be speed, their other stats are slightly below average. Monty Mole's Ball Dash ability was replaced with the Burrow ability, where Monty Mole can dig underneath the base person without knocking them over and being able to get to it as well. Monty Moles share the same chemistry as they did in Mario Superstar Baseball, but brown Miis are now also good chemistry as well. In the story mode of the game, Monty Mole can be found buried in the sand. If any of the team captains wakes them up, the Monty Mole will ask why they woke them up. They then claim that the team captain is no match for Bowser Jr. and his minions. The Monty Mole then challenges the team captain to a baseball match. Once the player wins, Monty Mole will happily join the team and will be unlocked as a character to use. Monty Moles also appear in many of the cutscenes either being in the crowd or cheering Mario. Unlike the previous game and Mario Strikers Charged, Monty Mole's use their modern design in the cutscene rather than their models from early GameCube games.
