In the final page of volume 4, there is artwork of a Monty Mole jumping out of a [[Yoshi Egg]] much to Mario's shock. The artwork consists of various reused artwork from ''[[Super Mario World]]''.
In '''volume 5''', in the "Hole" (穴) strip, a Monty Mole bursts out of their hole and flops onto the ground, making Mario angry. However, Mario then comments how the hole that the Monty Mole jumped out of is really nicely cutout. Mario then comments that the reason the hole is so nicely cutout is because the Monty Moles burst out of the same hole every time (with a dialogue box even confirming that it is the reason). Several Monty Moles are also shown to be squished in that exact same hole.
