Monty Moles make various appearances in the ''[[Super Mario (Kodansha manga)|Super Mario]]'' Kodansha manga. They use their sunglasses design for nearly every volume until the ''Super Mario 64'' arc, which gives them their design from said game.

In volume 31, the Monty Moles from ''Super Mario Sunshine'' appear, resembling Monty Moles from the manga, but still keeping their hat. During the events in [[Pinna Park]], a Monty Mole shoots [[Bullet Bill]]s at Yoshi and [[F.L.U.D.D.]] They later come back in a giant [[Yoshi's Egg|Yoshi Egg]], which they roll towards the Monty Mole. The Monty Mole attempts shooting them with Bullet Bills, but the egg deflects them. It tries to throw the [[Bob-omb]]s at the egg, but Yoshi rams into the Monty Mole, causing them all to blow up. Later on in [[Noki Bay]], a Monty Mole clogs the waterfall with a giant cork. When Mario and Yoshi reach the Monty Mole, it starts shooting Bullet Bills and throwing Bob-ombs at them rapidly. Yoshi gives Mario some glue, which he uses to glue the Bob-ombs to himself. He then jumps towards the Monty Mole to defeat it.

In volume 36, Mario can be seen playing [[Whack-a-Monty]] by his house. When Mario accidentally smacks Luigi, one of the Monty Moles can be seen smiling.
