In volume 55, when Yoshi takes a picture in [[Slaparazzi]], several ghosts of enemies that he has eaten in the past can be seen, including a Monty Mole. The ghost Monty Mole uses their original design from the manga, making it the first time this design was referenced since volume 27.
 
In volume 59, three Monty Moles would reappear in an adaptation of the ''[[Mario Party 7]]'' minigame [[Monty's Revenge]], where they would be commanded by Bowser to wack Mario and his friends with their mallets. The Monty Moles first angrily whack Mario repeatedly, due to all the times that Mario harmed them over the years. The Monty Moles then attempt to whack Princess Peach, but they are quickly not told not to do so by Bowser. However, Bowser tells the Monty Moles that they can whack Luigi as much as they want, which the Monty Moles promptly do (though Luigi finds this unfair). After Luigi surrenders and gets disqualified, the Monty Moles attempt to whack Yoshi. However, Yoshi would break the rules of the minigame by wearing a helmet and later attempting to eat the three Monty Moles (though he only managed to eat one of them),. which theThe latter action gotthat Yoshi did was what got him disqualified. As Mario is the only player left, the two remaining Monty Moles attempt to whack him once again. However, Mario makes a funny face to distract the Monty Moles. After laughingtheir from the face that Mariouncontrollable madelaughter, the Monty Moles attempt to find Mario once again, until they eventually find "himMario" once again. The two Monty Molesand proceed to whack "Mariohim" relentlessly. However, the Monty Moles quickly realize that they were not actually whacking Mario, but instead it was Bowser that they attacked (due to BowserMario havingputting a Mario mask of his face onto Bowser). Mario would then make a quick getaway from the minigame as the Monty Moles were distracted from their realization.
