Smashville is confirmed to be a stage in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It is based off of the Nintendo series Animal Crossing. The stage consists of a simple platform floating in mid-air, with a smaller second one above it. Aside from the Animal Crossing scenery, the stage is rather similar to Battlefield.

As with the games in the Animal Crossing series, the sky will change to match the Wii's internal clock. Also, if the game is played on a Saturday at 8:00 PM, K.K. Slider will appear in a live concert.

The music track, Animal Crossing: Go K.K. Rider!, will play on this stage, based on the actual song "Go K.K. Rider!!". It includes K.K. Slider singing near the end. Whether this part of the song happens on Saturdays only is unknown.

Trivia

  • The name, "Smashville", is a referance to the fact that the player can name the main town in Animal Crossing anything he/she wants.
  • Trophies of Tom Nook, K. K. Slider (under the Japanese name of Totakeke), and Mr. Resetti appeared in Super Smash Bros. Melee, despite the fact that Animal Crossing was not yet released by that time; as a result, their future appearance was marked as "Future Release".
  • On Super Smash Bros. Brawl's official website, the update featuring Smashville was marked with Animal Crossing's leaf logo. This hints at the possibility of a playable character from the series. Recently, an Animal Crossing item, the Pitfall, was revealed.
