'''Spear Pillar''' is an unlockable stage in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'', coming from [[Bulbapedia:Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Versions|''Pokémon Diamond Version''/ and ''Pokémon Pearl Version'']], the latest installment of the ''[[bulbapedia:Pokémon|Pokémon]]'' series, at the time. Spear Pillar is unlocked by beating Event Match 25: The Aura is With Me. It is set on a normal platform, but contains a small cave area underneath it, which players can run into. This is to represent the fact that in ''Diamond'' and ''Pearl'', the Spear Pillar is reached by climbing through the interior of Mount Coronet, which is a huge mountain.
 
The stage will randomly have a purple background or a bluishblue background. Blue means [[bulbapedia:Dialga (Pokémon)|Dialga]] from the ''Pokémon Diamond Version'' version will appear, and purple is a warning that [[bulbapedia:Palkia (Pokémon)|Palkia]] from ''Pokémon Pearl Version'' will appear on the stage. Less frequently, [[bulbapedia:Cresselia (Pokémon)|Cresselia]] from both versions will appear. During any particular battle, only one of these Pokémon will appear. [[bulbapedia:Uxie (Pokémon)|Uxie]], [[bulbapedia:Mesprit (Pokémon)|Mesprit]] and [[bulbapedia:Azelf (Pokémon)|Azelf]] sometimes appear in the background, though they serve no purpose.
 
Spear Pillar returns in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]''. Although Palkia retains its status as a [[Poké Ball]] [[Pokémon]] from ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS]]'' / ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Wii U|Wii U]]'', it still also makes an appearance in the stage.
