Spear Pillar
Spear Pillar is an unlockable stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, coming from the latest installment of the Pokémon series, Pokémon Diamond & Pearl. Spear Pillar is unlocked by beating Event Match 25: The Aura is With Me. It is set on a normal platform, but contains a small cave area underneath it, which players can run into. This is to represent the fact that in Diamond and Pearl, the Spear Pillar is reached by climbing through the interior of Mount Coronet, which is a huge mountain The top level is destructable. The stage will be randomized as a purple background, or a bluish background. Blue means the Diamond version, and purple is Pearl. Only Dialga will appear in the Diamond version, and only Palkia for the Pearl background. The Pokémon do different actions such as:
- Dialga: Horizontal beam on the lower section, vertical beam covering 1/3 of the stage, Roar of Time (jumps into the stage and damages anyone near Dialga), break the middle part of the top level. Dialga's unique ability to distort time will cause all characters to move in slow motion if Roar of Time is used.
- Palkia: Same as Dialga, except uses Spacial Rend instead of Roar of Time. Its' power to rend space can cause the stage to be reversed from left to right, also reversing the controls. This means that the player must attempt to control their character using the opposite direction buttons.
- Cresselia: Shoots a boomerang-like energy blade, which randomly goes around the stage, or uses Psycho Cut (shoots waves straight at the top platform).
