On June 23, 1996 with the release of ''[[Super Mario 64]]'' a new logo for the Mario Series was released. This logo is one of the most easily recognized as it was used for 15 years and is currently the longest used. Other than games, this logo was also used on Mario Ads and merchandise such as Toys, Plushies, Backpacks, Lunchboxes, Nintendo Gear, Clothes, and more. Although it was replaced with the next logo below, this logo remained used as a secondary logo until June 2013. The logo is still used on ''[[Super Mario Chess]]''.
