Wait, hold on a moment, are the ''DK'' arcade games really non-canon? Those were the starting point of the entire ''Mario'' franchise, and have been alluded to in main ''Super Mario'' series titles such as ''[[Super Mario Odyssey]]'' and also in ''[[Donkey Kong Country]]'', specifically the first arcade game.
