Army is another fauna native to Kong Island and agile due to its thick carapace that can curl up like armadillos. They make their first appearance in Donkey Kong Country.
All Armies have rough skin, ears up, hard carapace, tail, ocher nails and the natural color is brown.
History
In Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land, most Armies are used by the Kremling Krew to disrupt the Kong Family's journey.[2] They are able to curl themselves completely inside their carapace, forming a ball and then attack by rolling to chase the Kongs. This species can be defeated at once by Donkey Kong, but Diddy Kong can be neutralized to unfold and defeat them next.
In Donkey Kong 64, an individual Army named Army Dillo was hired by K. Rool to protect the two keys to K. Lumsy's cage.[3]

- SNES instruction booklet (page 29): Army will curl into an armored ball to protect himself from your attacks.
- SNES Nintendo Player's Guide (page 16): Army the armadillo has an excelent attack pattern. When he sees you, he rolls up and rolls at you. He'll continue to roll at you until you stomp on him, move out of the vicinity or until he falls off of a ledge or plataform.
- GBA Nintendo Player's Guide (page 16): Armys are tough tittle armadillos with an obsession for rolling. When Donkey and Diddy approach an Army, the critter will curl up in a ball and roll at the pair trying to knock them off their feet. Jump out of yhe way when an Army comes at you, then stomp on your foe to defeat it, or lure it to a ledge. It will roll its way out of your fur. Diddy has to jump on walking Armys twice to take them out-he'll bounce off their hard armor if they're curled up.
