Ball is an unlockable game from Game & Watch Gallery 2. The classic version originally appeared on the Game & Watch. In order to unlock the modern version, the gamer would first have to conquer the classic version, obtaining five stars on both easy and hard mode.
Classic Version
As Mr. Game & Watch, juggle, juggle, and juggle some more. In easy mode, there are two balls. In hard mode, there are three. Mr. Game & Watch must move his hands to where the balls are falling. Unlike most classic games that give the player three mistakes, if the player messes up onces and smashes one of the balls, it's game over.
Modern Version
Only unlocked after the classic version is conquered. The player can play as Mario, Wario, or Yoshi. The first version has Yoshi juggling Yoshi Eggs. For the Mario version of Modern Mode Ball has the player juggling a Star, a Super Mushroom and a Heart. These items had varying arcs of flight as opposed to the fixed patterns of the eggs. Wario's version gives the player a Heart, Spiked Ball and Wanderin' Goom to juggle. The objects had varying arcs of flight and the Goom would occasionally fly off screen at times.
The three versions of Modern Mode Ball all had Bob-Ombs fly down from the sky. Letting the bombs hit your paddles will cause a Game Over. Every one hundred points, Coins will rain down from the sky. Touching the coins with the paddles will reward the play with bonus points.
Trivia
- This Game & Watch was later re-worked into the Mario-themed Mario the Juggler, interestingly the last ever Game & Watch. (Ball was the very first.)[1]
