The Bomb Flappers are enemies that originated from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. They are a group of mass-produced, Pawn Series Badniks created by Dr. Eggman, as well as a variant of the Egg Flapper that are equipped with the ability to drop bombs down on their foes. Like the Egg Flappers before them, the Bomb Flapper made its first overall appearance in Sonic Heroes, though its only appearance in the Mario & Sonic series was in the Nintendo DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games.

In this game, a Bomb Flapper is the subject of the Defeat Bomb Flapper! minigame in the Adventure Tours mode. In it, a Bomb Flapper, which has been modified by a Shy Guy to drop Bob-ombs, drops its ammunition around the field. The objective is for the playable character, Waluigi, to throw the Bob-ombs back at the Bomb Flapper several times within a minute in order to defeat it. The Bomb Flapper will also occasionally drop green Bob-ombs that chase after Waluigi.

Trivia

• As of now, the Bomb Flapper is the only Badnik to make its most recent appearance in a Mario & Sonic title, as every other Badnik has appeared in later pieces of media.
