Buzzers are a wasp-based Badnik model from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. They made their first overall appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis, and made their first Mario-related appearance in Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games
In Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, Buzzers only appear in the Action & Answer Tour when playing in the Ski Jumping Large Hill event. A difference is that the player's character has to jump off the Large Hill, upon which both Buzzers and Paratroopas appear onscreen to make a formation. After landing, the player's character has to answer a question asking which formation the Buzzers and Paratroopas made. If answered correctly, the player's character earns 10 points, including any other contestant who gave the correct answer themselves.
