TheyThe Choropū Chika Butai make their only appearappearance in the third ''[[Super Mario Kart]]'' volume of the ''[[Super Mario (Kodansha manga)|Super Mario]]'' Kodansha manga. Despite being Monty Moles, theythe Choropū Chika Butai have much more closelyof a resemblance resembleto [[Mega Mole]]s, with additional mining helmets as well.

During one of the races, Bowser calls upon the Choropū Chika Butai to sabotage the race to allow him and [[Wario]] to win the raceit. The Choropū Chika Butai alongside some [[Chargin' Chuck]]s help break a supporting beam to make the track fall apart. However, [[Mario]] and [[Princess Peach|Peach]] are able to use a small supporting pipe to drive on the other side and continue the race. Unfortunately, Bowser and Wario on the other hand are stuck on the other side of the road.
