Donkey Kong Jr. is the main protagonist of his game, Cranky Kong's son and Donkey Kong's father.[1] He never appeared in Donkey Kong franchise as a participating character.

History
Donkey Kong franchise
In Donkey Kong Jr., Junior had to chase Mario on his home island until hideout of same to save his father.
In Donkey Kong, Junior becomes enemy for being his father's sidekick where he activates the traps with Switch. In Tower, Junior is stop by Mario for good where he locked him in a cage.
In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Junior appears as a cameo at the end of the Aqueduct Assault level in the background inside on Wii U GamePad held high by the original Donkey Kong.
