This Magikoopa is intended to be Kamek due to him being old friends with Bowser and, if players read his mind with [[Mallow]]'s [[Psychopath]] ability, the Magikoopa will state "That's... my child?", referring to Bowser, whom he raised. However, when the game was translated to English, the translators forgot about giving the name "Kamek" to the individual Magikoopa character and, as a result, Kamek was called "Magikoopa" in the English release. This has caused confusion among fans and led many to believe it was another character altogether.
