'''Generators''' are black and purple portals which spawn up to thirty [[Mite]]s to attack the player. They do not stop spawning enemies until this limit is reached or they are defeated, and do not have a health bar, unlike all other enemies, making it difficult to know how much damage is needed to destroy one at any given point.
They were not named until their later appearance in ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS]]'', where they appear in the Smash Run mode. In this mode, they can also spawn other small enemies alongside the Mites, and they give more stat boosts the sooner they are defeated.
