::::::::I 100% agree, I am wondering what your stance on those two products being overrated is (or do you just want to hear my opinion)? Also, the iceberg mainly goes from more well known robot villains towards the top to more obscure robot villains towards the bottom. I am curious on what robot villains you would like to propose for the iceberg? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 03:19, March 3, 2024 (UTC)
:::::::::I have no suggestions for iceberg, sorry. I feel the aesthetic of SMB Wonder is too bright and has an art style that's mainly suited to Eastern audiences rather than globally (at least that's how I personally see it). Some Wonder effects are just too much for me, like the singing Piranha Plants. Aside from points about SMB Movie we've gone over before, I've heard they didn't credit Grant Kirkhope for the DK Rap (cold move right there). :::::::::Yeah the art style for Super Mario Bros. Wonder makes it feel like a mobile game, and the Wonder Flower effects are mostly just throwing random garbage at the wall to see what sticks (usually making the levels even worse when activating them), but there are some other issues as well such as the awful bland level design that is incredibly downgraded compared to what we had in the New Super Mario Bros. games (mostly to make the awful Wonder Flower gimmicks), easily the worst enemy roster of any mainline Mario title period (with numerous recurring staples being not i ley absent in favor of only the really basic enemies (with very few exceptions) and the new enemies either being really mediocre and forgettable with nothing that makes them standout, or some of the worst enemies in the entire franchise), only having two pretty damn bad bosses, the airship levels easily being the worst airships in the entire franchise, and the last few levels of the game (the last three before the final boss) being some of the most poorly designed and unfun levels in the entire franchise (with the last level especially just being random garbage thrown at you with no rhyme or reason, kind of like the rest of the game). It sucks since Super Mario Bros. Wonder had potential to be an amazing game, but what we got was an abysmal gimmicky mess that is incredibly bland and annoying to play through (not to mention how some people act like it is the best Mario game of all time, when in reality it is easily one of the worst ones). I seriously do not get why Super Mario Bros. Wonder gets all the praise and attention for being a pile of overrated garbage while Sonic Superstars gets hated on despite it having far more positives than Super Mario Bros. Wonder ever had. What do you personally think on all of this? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 03:33, March 3, 2024 (UTC)
:::::::::I think you have a very good way of describing things. While I haven't analyzed Super Mario Bros. Wonder to the extent that you have (I've decided to pass on it), I do think that it does feel like things being thrown at a wall until they can find something that sticks. THIS is why fangame developers matter: eventually, something is going to hit the point of the same ideas being regurgitated and eaten again by the same people, unless they are willing to expand their horizons to what people who may know the franchise EVEN MORE than they do. Throwing something until it sticks never ever does it for me; one has to have a proper basis or inspiration, like Super Mario Sunshine is an inspired and great game. I haven't played Sonic Superstars, but I have seen ads for it. Eeyore the Iowan Goat (talk) 04:43, March 5, 2024 (UTC)
