In the Mario franchise, Asia makes a notable appearance in the The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 episode "7 Continents for 7 Koopas" where, during King Koopa's conquest of the real world, he puts Bully Koopa under control of Asia. Bully vandalizes the Great Wall of China by spraying graffiti all over it. Mario later steals Bully's wand, and turns the Wall into a giant dragon, who terrorizes Bully.

In Mario is Missing!, Luigi visits two locations in Asia: Tokyo, Japan and Beijing, China. The events of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, based on the 2008 Summer Olympics, take place in Beijing.
