Their reason for creating the wiki was to base it on the [https://www.mariowiki.com/ Super Mario Wiki] fromback itsin earlierthe days2000s. Later that year, the url was renamed to <code>mario.miraheze.org</code>, per [[User:Bawitdaba|Bawitdaba]]'s suggestion. On April 26, 2022, also per Bawitdaba's suggestion, the wiki has been renamed to Mariopedia and given a new domain, <code>mariopedia.org</code>.
