Pokey Head

Pokey Heads are enemies appearing in Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario Galaxy 2. They are basically a Pokey, but include only the head. They act similar to Pokey Sprouts in Super Mario Sunshine but they're green and lack any spikes.

Unlike standard Pokeys, they cannot fall on Mario, as they are too small. Instead, they hide in the ground, and jump out when Mario or Luigi come close. They then hop towards Mario slowly. They can be defeated with a Jump or Spin. Stomping will reveal a Coin and spinning will release 3 Star Bits.

Trivia
- The Red Pokey in the beta version of Super Mario Galaxy was originally green much like the color of a Pokey Head but this was changed in the final build most likely to avoid confusion.
- The Green Pokeys from Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Paper Mario: Color Splash resemble Pokey heads except they have full segments.
